Smoking, drinking alcohol, or taking other illicit drugs during pregnancy is not suggested. When pregnant, every drug you choose to take, your baby takes in unwillingly. Combined data from 2008-2009, from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health, recorded drug abuse when pregnant from ages 15-44. The results showed the younger half of the people were involved in substance use. Taking in drugs keeps your baby from getting nourishment and raises the risk of stillbirth or premature birth.
